Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the eldest daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings and Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has emerged as one of Ghana’s most influential voices in governance, peace, and security. Born on 1st June 1978 in Accra, she grew up in a home deeply connected to the Ghana Armed Forces through her father’s celebrated military career. This early exposure shaped her understanding of discipline, national security, and the sacrifices associated with military service. It also sparked her interest in issues of peace, stability, and security—areas that have become central to her public life.Though trained as a medical doctor at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Zanetor later broadened her academic path to include defence and security studies. She pursued advanced training at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, earning a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Security. Her education continued at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, where she received certificates in Defence Management, Crisis Response, and Counter-Terrorism. These qualifications have distinguished her as one of the most security-competent legislators in Ghana’s recent political history.In Parliament, Zanetor represents the Klottey-Korle Constituency and serves on committees closely tied to national defence.
