Reset Agenda in Motion

A staff member of the Electoral Commission (EC) has filed a petition seeking the removal of Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies, a development that has quickly stirred political conversation about whether the NDC’s much talked about reset agenda is beginning to touch key state institutions.

The petition, submitted by Joseph Blankson Adumadzie, was formally presented to President John Dramani Mahama in line with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution. In a statement on Monday, November 24, the petitioner accused the EC leadership of misconduct, insisting that their actions have compromised the integrity and public confidence in Ghana’s electoral processes.

Although the petitioner did not provide full details of the alleged wrongdoing in the public statement, the timing alone has generated significant interest.
