  1. Government clears energy debts
    The government under President John Dramani Mahama has paid about US$1.47 billion to settle old debts in the energy sector.
    The payments covered debts to companies such as ENI, Vitol, Karpowership and Cenpower. This is expected to improve electricity supply and attract investors.

    Ghana’s inflation rate fell again in December 2025, dropping to about 5.4%. This is the 12th straight month of decline, mainly because food prices have reduced.
